West Ham United technical director Tim Steidten has now been paying compliment to one of the club’s new signings this season.
There’s certainly no doubt that Steidten has had a big impact since he arrived in East London to work with David Moyes.

Steidten arrived in London and almost immediately seemed to be at logger-heads with Moyes if reports are to be believed.
The duo were said to be finding it difficult to agree on transfer targets, which was a concern given the need to replace Declan Rice with a few new faces.
Of course, that stalemate was eventually resolved and Steitden, Moyes and West Ham enjoyed a strong window.
James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus have probably been the pick of the players who arrived.
And when doing an interview with Sky Germany, Steidten has now been very positive about the impact Mexico international Alvarez has had on the squad.
Steidten was grateful that Borussia Dortmund stalled with their interest in the summer, allowing The Hammers to steal the move.
Tim Steidten says Edson Alvarez is already a leader at West Ham
Discussing the midfielder’s impact, Steidten said: “He has a very big influence on our game. I am very happy that Dortmund may have been a bit slow and I had the chance to get him.
“I have also known him for a very long time. He is a super important player for us. He is a leader. An absolute leadership figure. He is top.”

Of course, it’s very hard to disagree with those words.
Alvarez has been immense in the middle, and has been sorely missed when not available for the eleven.
And perhaps the biggest compliment that can be paid to the Mexican is Kalvin Phillips’ role since signing.
Phillips was on the bench at Manchester United, allowing a familiar midfield duo of Alvarez and Tomas Soucek.
That being said, it will be interesting to see how Moyes eventually crafts his best midfield, perhaps playing Phillips alongside Alvarez.
Either way, Alvarez’s £35m move to West Ham has been a huge success for Tim Steidten and all involved.
Of course, one West Ham target didn’t appear too fussed about missing out on a move to the club last month.
