'He is a huge talent': BBC pundit raves about £56m star Liverpool are reportedly trying to sign
Jurgen Klinsmann has hailed Nicolo Barella amid reported interest from Liverpool on BBC Match of the Day live.
And Klinsmann certainly feels that Liverpool would be making a brilliant signing, if his comments about the midfielder are anything to go by.
“I watched him many times this summer, he is probably the biggest talent coming through the Italian system right now,” Klinsmann said.
“He could go as a box to box player, he is dangerous getting into the penalty area and occupies the entire right flank.
“He is cold blooded. This is a player to watch for the next 10 years. He is a huge talent.”
For Barella to be hailed as the biggest talent in this Italy side is quite the compliment.
Roberto Mancini’s squad is stacked with quality players, with Italy booking their place in the final of Euro 2020 yesterday with a win over Spain.
Barella wasn’t as influential in that game as he has been in the tournament previously, but the reported Liverpool target still showed some classy touches in advanced areas.
If he was brought to Liverpool he would likely be an expensive addition.
But if Jurgen Klopp’s side are to regain their Premier League title then players of Barella’s quality will surely have to be bought, with some of Liverpool’s closest rivals expected to make some ambitious signings this summer.
