Arsenal newcomer Gabriel Magalhaes has waxed lyrical about new Gunners teammate William Saliba, in conversation with the official club website.
Mikel Arteta has been busy bolstering his ranks this summer, with Gabriel and Willian arriving on his watch, while Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares have been signed permanently whilst on loan.
Saliba, meanwhile, was recruited last year from Saint-Etienne, though he spent the 2019-20 season on loan with his former parent club, who went on to reach the French Cup final.

Both Gabriel and Saliba excelled in Ligue 1 last season and the prospect of the two forming a long-term centre-back partnership at Arsenal has got many fans excited.
And the Brazilian had very kind words for his fellow defender, telling the Gunners website: “I know [Saliba] is a talented young player and if he is joining Arsenal it is because of his quality.
“We have a few friends in common and I did play against him before. He is a great player and I am sure we will get along very well.”
TBR View:
The Arteta revolution continues to gather pace in North London, with high-profile signings coming on board, and the defence is certainly well-stocked now for the most part.
Despite his 19 years of age, Saliba has shown he has what it takes at the top level in a difficult league, with plenty of plaudits having come his way.
And with so much untapped potential and progress yet to come from him, it’s no wonder Gabriel is looking forward to playing alongside his new teammate.
Needless to say, things are looking very exciting at the Emirates Stadium right now, and with more players being linked with the club, it looks as though there’s much more to come.
