‘He has to play’, ‘start him please’: Some Liverpool fans make demand to Jurgen Klopp for tonight

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to rejoice in the news that captain Jordan Henderson has resumed full training and could take part in Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 second leg at Anfield.

The Reds midfielder has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in the first leg against Atletico Madrid, a game which the La Liga side won 1-0.

Henderson’s absence has been felt as Liverpool went on to lose two more games after the Atleti defeat, a shock 3-0 loss at Watford and a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea.

However, Jurgen Klopp confirmed to the Liverpool media team on Tuesday that his skipper is now “ready”, having come through training sessions unscathed on Sunday and Monday, as the Reds bid to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

However, Klopp remained coy about the prospect of actually starting Henderson, saying: “Hendo is ready but if we do that, I don’t know… or maybe I know and I don’t say.”

As a result, plenty of Liverpool fans took to social media to give their thoughts:

In other fitness news, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains out with a hip problem that will also keep him on the sidelines for the upcoming Merseyside derby against Everton.
