Jurgen Klopp has revealed at his press conference, which was broadcast on Liverpool’s official Youtube channel, that Curtis Jones won’t feature against Norwich City this weekend.
No Jones
Liverpool are due to take on the newly promoted side on Saturday, and their injury list doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as it did last season.
However, frustratingly for Jones he won’t be featuring – even though he is fit.
Jones picked up a concussion in Liverpool’s pre-season friendly in midweek, and protocols mean that he now must be rested.
“We have no serious injuries apart from Robbo, and Curtis but he is okay but we have to follow protocols so he can’t play [against Norwich]. I have some decisions to make,” he said.
Blow for Liverpool
Jones’ absence actually serves as a fairly big blow for Liverpool this season.

With Georginio Wijnaldum no longer part of their squad there is a gap in the Reds’ squad.
Jones looks one of the most likely candidates to step in as a regular starter in Liverpool’s midfield.
But the youngster will have to wait a while longer before he is able to get his season up and running, due to his pre-season set back.
