Phil Hay has told The Athletic that he has heard recently that Leeds United are interested in signing James Garner off the back of his brilliant year at Nottingham Forest.
Leeds are heading into a crucial summer window. As things stand, Jesse Marsch’s men look to have a big chance of staying in the Premier League next season.

The fans will want to see the kind of signings that ensure that Leeds are in nothing like the same trouble next year. They will certainly want greater depth to come in.
And it looks like Leeds have their eye on one of the best players in the Championship this term.
Previous reports claimed that Leeds were amongst the clubs keen on Garner. The 21-year-old has scored three and contributed four assists for Steve Cooper’s men.

He has undoubtedly been one of the most impressive midfielders in the second tier. And he will have questions about his future as he returns to Manchester United.
Hay was asked about the chances of the Whites going back in for Brenden Aaronson this summer. And he went on to suggest that Garner is someone on the radar for Leeds.
“It’ll be interesting to see who Leeds target. James Garner, the Manchester United midfielder who’s on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship and having a very good year, is someone I’ve heard mentioned recently,” he told The Athletic.
Garner could be a brilliant signing for Leeds depending on Manchester United’s demands
Garner looks ready for the Premier League. And some Manchester United fans will be imploring their next manager to integrate him into the first-team at Old Trafford.
So it could be a coup if Leeds could bring Garner to Elland Road in some capacity. Obviously, he will have a point to prove given where he is coming from.
He has the quality to step up to the challenge. He has been labelled ‘phenomenal‘ this term. So it is little surprise that Leeds are seemingly putting themselves in the running.
