Reported Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Patson Daka has been hailed by Austria icon Andi Herzog and tipped for a big move, in conversation with Krone.

According to Football London, Jose Mourinho’s Spurs are looking at the Red Bull Salzburg and Zambia forward, who the Far Post has also linked with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.

Daka registered 27 goals and 12 assists from 45 games in all competitions for Salzburg last season, including 24 goals in 31 league appearances.

Just this week, the 21-year-old put in a superb display in a 10-0 friendly win over Bregenz, scoring four goals – one penalty – including two with his weaker foot.

And late last month, he netted twice in the opening 13 minutes against Liverpool, who managed to fight back for a 2-2 draw.

Herzog, capped 103 times for Austria and with the likes of Bayern Munich on his CV, suggested that Daka could be the next Salzburg prospect to make the jump to a higher league – perhaps even the Premier League.

“From year to year, Salzburg sell the best players,” the former Israel boss told Krone. “The ‘super talents’ keep pushing their way to the top. The work in Salzburg is impressive!

“I have to highlight Patson Daka. Dynamic, supple. I wouldn’t have been surprised if he had flown straight to the island (Britain) after the 2-2 draw with Liverpool.”

Whilst Daka has made a huge name for himself over the past season, particularly after Erling Braut Haaland’s exit, his talent has been evident for years.

Former Lille and Zambia coach Herve Renard previously said “write his name down because he’s very, very promising” (Besoccer).

Meanwhile, Dan Kabwe – another of his former coaches – told News Diggers he reminded him of Thierry Henry.

In terms of price tag, The Sun claims a fee of “£20million plus” could be enough to tempt him from Salzburg – fairly modest considering his age, talent, goalscoring record and chance for further development.
