Diego Costa
This season Diego Costa is more interested in scoring goals than picking fights and the team have benefited from it. Costa is the league’s top scorer with 13 goals (one more than last season) and he has provided five assists. His physicality enables him to bully defenders off the ball with ease and force them into mistakes.
It seemed there would be a goalless draw between Chelsea and West Brom earlier in the month but Costa took advantage of a mistake by defender Gareth McAuley before slotting home to get the only goal of the game and give Chelsea three points.
He missed the game against Bournemouth through suspension but Chelsea still won 3-0 proving that they are not a one man team. Costa will be back for the game against Stoke as Chelsea look for their 13th consecutive win. Based on current form, it would be daft to bet against them.
Liverpool are six points behind Chelsea and Man City are seven points behind them. Chelsea are bound to go through a rough patch at some point and when they do it will be up to the other teams to take advantage. Having said that, it seems that the title is Chelsea’s to lose.
