Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan have been linked with a move to the Championship. According to The Bristol Post, Sheffield United have dropped their interest in Hogan with Bristol City entering the race.
Hogan has fallen down the pecking order at Aston Villa since moving from Brentford. With only 10 goals in more than 60 Aston Villa games, his time in the West Midlands has been disappointing.
But he enjoyed a reasonable loan spell at Sheffield United, scoring twice to help them win promotion. However, the Blades are looking at other options now they have gone up.
Aston Villa are considering what to do with Hogan. Do they keep him as a back-up striker or let him leave? After he struggled in the Championship, Dean Smith might be tempted to let Hogan leave.
Bristol City are ready to offer the Republic of Ireland international an escape. The 27-year-old proved his goalscoring prowess in the second-tier with Brentford and the Robins hope he can rediscover that touch.
Here are some tweets from Aston Villa fans discussing Hogan’s potential move to Bristol City.
