'Hate this', 'Unthinkable': Tottenham fans react to latest Christian Eriksen rumours

Tottenham fans have been reacting to news from The Athletic that there is a ‘small possibility’ of Christian Eriksen returning to the club.

The Danish midfielder is surplus to requirements with Inter Milan after falling down the pecking order just 12 months after he made the move to Italy from north London.

Eriksen has been linked with a number of clubs, including Spurs’ rivals, Arsenal. However, talks have gathered pace in recent days that Spurs could be willing to take him back, with Jose Mourinho said to be open to the idea.

Naturally, the subject has caused quite the stir on social media as a number of Tottenham fans took to Twitter to discuss the latest update.

And despite theire being a mixed reaction, it does seem some Spurs supporters would rather the club steer clear of Eriksen.

Hate this. He was awful in his last year with us. To resign him is unthinkable. Move forward not backwards. Let him go to PSG

He literally left Spurs for Inter cause he wanted a new challenge. He rejected a better contract offer at Spurs. He is earning less at Inter. Is he really motivated to come back to Spurs?

Not for me thanks. Flog Dele for £50 mill if we’re not going to play him and give Villa £80 mill for Grealish. Great player in my book who would really link the midfield and attack up. Younger than Erikson and would have more drive and ambition which is what Jose loves.

1) Realises Spurs is his home. Grass wasn’t greener and with Mourinho its a different challenge. Works hard and destroys again.
2) Falls back into first gear and idles.
