‘Has to start’: Arsenal fans think Gabriel Martinelli in line for Everton call

Arsenal take on Everton this evening and some Gunners fans believe that young forward, Gabriel Martinelli, simply has to start at Goodison Park.

Martinelli played a key role for the Gunners as they lost 3-2 at Old Trafford in midweek. He showed good energy and was on hand to play the pass that led to Martin Odegaard scoring. However, he has often been deployed wide, with the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette preferred through the middle.

However, Arteta took Aubameyang off at the weekend and there are signs that the Arsenal boss is becoming a bit fed up of the Gabon striker’s poor form. Indeed, it’s now five games without a goal for Aubameyang, along with some pretty anonymous performances overall.

Ahead of tonight’s game with Everton, the Arsenal Twitter account shared a picture of Martinelli. And sure enough, that sent the Gunners fans into a frenzy, with some believing it’s a hint he’s starting at Goodison.
