Tottenham Hotspur attack Erik Lamela might be in line to make his first Premier League start against West Ham United on Saturday.

Lamela has made four appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but he’s started every match on the bench so far.

With the news that Dele Alli is set to miss the next two games for Spurs, and potentially the Manchester City game on October 29, it’s a chance for the Argentine.

The 2013 signing from AS Roma has started the season brightly considering he’s had to feed off scraps.

He’s scored four goals in seven appearances across all competitions. Surely he is in Pochettino’s thinking ahead of the game at the London Stadium.

Lamela to get nod over Eriksen?

Alli may be ruled out but Christian Eriksen has been passed fit to return for the clash, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The Denmark international has been recovering from an abdominal strain for the past month, which has opened the door for Lamela to get a bit more recognition lately.

Lamela will be hoping to get the nod over his teammate, who is surely lacking match fitness.

He’s had to bide his time but he could start in behind Harry Kane where Alli would normally operate.

Lucas Moura will likely feature on the right wing, if not alongside the Englishman.

Lamela is looking dangerous this year, and he needs to take any chance afforded to him in Alli’s absence and with Eriksen lacking fitness

He has arguably underperformed since his move from Italy and needs a big season.
