Has Solanke earned a Liverpool reprieve with international goals?

Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has been linked with a January loan exit to get regular playing time.

According to The Sun, Liverpool are ready to loan Solanke out with West Ham and Crystal Palace keen.

The 21-year-old striker has not played a single minute of competitive football for Liverpool this season and Jurgen Klopp wants him to prove himself elsewhere.

But he may just have caught Klopp’s eyes with his recent performances on international duty.

The England under-21 international was in action twice in the past week and showed no signs of rust as he lead the line for his country’s youth side.

Against Italy under-21s, Solanke scored both goals as England triumphed 2-1. And then he followed that up with another brace against Denmark under-21s in a friendly on Tuesday night.

One of those strikes demonstrated an outrageous piece of skill as he lobbed the goalkeeper with a back-heel as he went away from goal.

Liverpool manager Klopp will surely be considering promoting Solanke now and the youngster could get some opportunities.

His displays for England’s under-21 side might have earned him a reprieve; rather than leaving Anfield in January, Klopp might choose to use Solanke.

And the ex-Chelsea forward will have his eyes on a first-team spot, with Roberto Firmino out of goalscoring form.
