Said Benrahma produced yet another outstanding performance for Brentford on Saturday.
The Algerian winger fired another two goals – one an utter sizzler – for the Bees during a 3-1 win over Derby County, taking his tally for the season to 16 for the season.
The 24-year-old is finishing 2019/20 with a flourish having hit a hat-trick against Wigan Athletic only days before, and the star’s reputation is growing by the week.
It is becoming clear the African wizard is too good to be playing in the Championship, and he seems destined to play for a top club.
Arsenal have been linked with a move in recent times (Telegraph earlier this year), but Benrahma is making such an impression it may now be foolish for the Gunners to ignore him in the next transfer window.
TBR’s View – Benrahma a priority for Arsenal?
Perhaps signing Benrahma would be the best way to get Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang playing through the middle.
Alexandre Lacazette is being linked with a move away from the club, but the talented Benrahma pitching up at the Emirates would allow the Gabon superstar to centralise.
The Emirates talisman is great from out wide but arguably more devastating through the middle.
Signing £35 million-rated Benrahma (La Gazette Du Fennec) would not only boost the team’s creativity from out wide, but it would also potentially allow the team’s best player to flourish in his best position.
There would, of course, be an element of risk given the Premier League is a big step up from the Championship, but the player’s flair and intelligence suggest he’d be more than capable of making the transition.
