Has Everton Soares just dropped double Instagram hint he’ll be joining Arsenal?

Arsenal are keen on Gremio forward Everton Soares from Gremio, according to a report from Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.

They report that the Gunners are the front-runners to sign the Brazilian international, who was the top scorer at this summer’s Copa American and are willing to pay around 40 million euros (£36 million) for his services.

And his social media has thrown up two interesting pieces of activity lately. Firstly, his girlfriend posted on her Instagram account a video of Everton learning English.

Then, the player himself followed Arsenal new-boy Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram – so has he just dropped a double Instagram hint he’s off to the Emirates Stadium?

Of course, the player could be learning English for any number of reasons – or just trying to whip the fans into a frenzy during a transfer window which is coming to the crunch.

But it does appear too much to be a total coincidence and is enough to get the supporters excited – but that alone doesn’t necessarily make it clear that he’s coming to Arsenal.

Engaging with Martinelli puts Arsenal in the frame slightly more, but the teenager is also a fellow Brazilian who is starting to make waves, so this one could simply be a coincidence.

It wouldn’t be wise for Arsenal fans to go out and get their Everton Soares shirts printed just yet, but perhaps his social media activity has dropped a double clue about who he’ll be playing for next season…
