Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos – so has he just given a hint on social media that he could end up at the Emirates Stadium next season?

The 24-year-old spent the 2019/20 campaign with the Gunners on loan and he became an integral part of the starting XI during the second half of the season under manager Mikel Arteta.

According to Spanish publication AS, Madrid have decided to look at the deep-lying playmaker in pre-season and have halted discussions with Arsenal for him.

Arsenal are looking to bring the Spaniard back to North London for a second spell, but appear to have hit an obstacle in pursuit of him if reports are to be believed.

But perhaps Ceballos has hinted on Thursday morning on his Instagram story that he may be re-signing for Arsenal, as he posted a happy birthday message to Gunners player Joe Willock and included the phrase “see you soon”.

TBR’s View:

Ceballos appears to be teasing Arsenal fans with his latest social media post, but it does suggest he may be back in the Premier League for next season.

Arteta’s finished last season in brilliant fashion by winning the FA Cup and everything appears to be moving in a positive direction under him, which is why they need to keep hold of their best players.

Ceballos certainly grew into a influential figure in the central midfield area, as he’s someone that can spot a pass, can drive forward in possession, and an aggressive tackler too.

Despite a slow start in England, his loan ended up being an extremely productive one and it would be a real bosst to re-sign him from Madrid.
