Harvey Elliott lauds Liverpool squad over 'unbelievable' gesture
Harvey Elliott has told Liverpool’s official website that the support that he has got from the Reds squad while he has been out on loan has been unbelievable – as he also paid tribute to the fans.
Elliott is certainly one player who has made the most of his time away from Anfield. The 18-year-old has been outstanding with Blackburn Rovers.
The teenager has scored six goals and provided 11 assists in the Championship for Tony Mowbray’s side.
And it appears that his teammates back on Merseyside have taken notice of his superb performances at Ewood Park.
Elliott suggested that the support that he has got from everyone at the club has meant the world to him while he has been away.
“It’s just nice to see that they’re still thinking about me and still checking up on me,” he told Liverpool’s official website. “I just can’t thank them enough for the support throughout this time of me being away.
“It’s just unbelievable to be in and around it and just to see the support I’ve been getting – as well as from the fans, getting good luck messages before matches.”
It is incredibly encouraging to see Elliott do so well in the second tier. His natural talent and ability has rarely been questioned since his arrival at Anfield.
But he perhaps felt that he needed to prove himself with the hopes so high for his future.
Unfortunately, Blackburn have little to play for in their final two games of the Championship season.
But while Rovers are destined for another year out of the top flight, Elliott’s performances this term have surely ensured that he will be playing at the highest level once again next season.
