Liverpool academy ace Elijah Dixon-Bonner has received messages of support after he confirmed on social media that he’ll be out “for a while” through injury.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who joined the Reds academy aged 15 from Arsenal’s setup, made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

“Unfortunate to be faced with an injury that will keep me off the pitch for a while,” he wrote. “I’ll be working hard to be back doing what I do best as soon as I can.”

The likes of Elliott, Ki-Jana Hoever and Paul Glatzel were amongst those to wish him a speedy recovery:

Dixon-Bonner has already made his senior Liverpool debut, coming off the bench in the FA Cup win over Shrewsbury earlier this year.

In addition, he was in the matchday squad for the League Cup loss to Aston Villa, a game which saw a young Reds team picked as the senior side was contesting the FIFA Club World Cup.

This season, Dixon-Bonner has made eight appearances – six in the Premier League 2 and two in the EFL Trophy.

He was named in Barry Lewtas’ starting XI for last Friday’s 1-0 league win over Arsenal and came off in the 77th minute, Abdi Sharif taking his place.
