Harry Winks has claimed he’s excited by the Tottenham signing of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer and believes he may be a “fantastic addition” to the squad.
Spurs completed a £53.8million deal (BBC) this week for the France international and that could rise to £62.8million with bonuses.
Ndombele has made his first ever move to the Premier League and has built up his reputation in Ligue 1.
He’s a box-to-box central midfielder that is defensively solid, while he’s useful going forward too and can glide past opponents.
The 22-year-old chipped in with eight assists in 49 games last season for Lyon and does have the experience of Champions League football under his belt.
Winks could well end up partnering Ndombele in the Spurs midfield during the new campaign and he’s impressed by the signing.
“We’ve heard a lot from him through Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko, both have played with him for France,” Winks told talkSPORT.
“We’ve heard he’s a top player, we haven’t really seen much of him in terms of watching him on telly. From what we’ve heard and the clips we have seen of him, he looks like a fantastic addition to the squad and we are looking forward to welcoming him when we go back in.”

TBR’s View:
Ndombele is a powerhouse that could be a real hit in the Premier League and he looks a natural replacement for ex-player Mousa Dembele.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have made a real statement with the capture of the Lyon ace and have broken their club record to get him.
Ndombele has all the tools to make an immediate impact in the Spurs team, while having familiar faces from the international stage like Sissoko and Lloris around him should help.
