Harry Redknapp has told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast Show on Thursday (09:10am) that Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish could be Tottenham’s newest version of Luka Modric, if he joined the north London club this summer.
Grealish, 24, has been in stunning form for Villa despite the Midlands side sitting in a lowly 18th place in the Premier League. In 36 league and cup appearances, he has had a hand in 17 goals – scoring nine and creating eight.
The soon-to-be England international told Sky Sports in 2018 of his “disappointment” at failing to secure a move to Tottenham – after Spurs had seen a £25million bid rejected. Now, he is worth much more than that.
But former Tottenham boss Redknapp has urged Spurs to sign the playmaker regardless of his price tag, suggesting he can be the next version of Modric or Christian Eriksen in Tottenham’s side – if he joined.
