Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has shared what he thinks his former side must do if they want to challenge Arsenal at the top end of the table.
Speaking to ESPN, Redknapp reflected on his spell in North London and feels he was a ‘couple of players’ short of winning the league with Spurs.
The Englishman also believes Mauricio Pochettino would have had similar regrets after his time at Tottenham.
Ange Postecoglou is still very much in the early stages of his tenure at Spurs but the early signs have been positive.

The Aussie boss had Tottenham sitting top of the Premier League before his squad was decimated by injuries and suspensions last month.
And Redknapp has called for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to back Postecoglou in the transfer market to avoid making similar mistakes.
Redknapp says Tottenham must take risks in the transfer market to challenge Arsenal
Speaking to ESPN, Redknapp admitted he can see some similarities between his spell at Spurs and Postecoglou’s tenure so far.
“I think if we had bought those couple of players that year, we could have been very close to winning the league with that group,” Redknapp said. “Pochettino obviously felt something like that after me.
“People criticise Daniel but the stadium is amazing, the training ground is top drawer. They’re building the team now and with everything else in place, hopefully they will be up there challenging every season.
“But if they want to up there pushing for the top spots like Arsenal are now, they’ve got to move on a little bit, they’ve got to have a bit of a gamble. I can see a similarity with my time for sure.”

Redknapp makes a great point about Tottenham failing to push the boat out at critical points over the past decade.
It happened during his tenure when Spurs looked like they could challenge for the title in the 2011-12 campaign.
Many Spurs fans also look back on Pochettino’s spell at Spurs with frustration as the Argentine took the North Londoners to dizzy heights. But he was ultimately let down by the club’s business in the transfer market.
It’s still early days in terms of Postecoglou’s Spurs career but they will need to avoid making the same mistakes once again.
The Aussie doesn’t seem like the type of manager to stick around unless he feels like he has a chance of delivering the ultimate success at Tottenham.
