Harry Redknapp says he'd 'love' Lampard to sign 25-year-old PL star for Everton
Lampard is set to start his tenure at Goodison Park with a deal for Donny van de Beek it seems. Of course, the Manchester United star has struggled for minutes throughout his time at Old Trafford.
Another player Everton have been linked with this month is Dele. Like van de Beek, the Tottenham star has been on the fringes over the last couple of years. And he may be hoping to seal a move on the final day of the window.
It has been reported that Dele is yet to attract a formal offer ahead of deadline day. But Redknapp has suggested that he hopes that Lampard’s arrival may pave the way for the 25-year-old to move to Merseyside.
“He’s been linked with Dele Alli, I’d love to see him take Dele Alli and turn his career around,” he told talkSPORT.
“He’s a great talent, someone somewhere, and Dele Alli also, needs to get him back on track. There’s a great player in there somewhere.”
Everton face major problem in potential Dele Alli pursuit
At this stage, it looks most likely that Dele will leave Tottenham on loan should he seal any sort of move away. Spurs may be reluctant to sell while his value is low.
Preferring a loan would be a problem for Everton however. Van de Beek is set to become their second loanee from a Premier League club. Therefore, the Toffees would only be able to pursue a permanent deal.
So Redknapp may have to be prepared to not get his wish of seeing Dele move to Everton.
