Harry Redknapp has told the Scottish Sun that he “could do” the Celtic job but believes Neil Lennon should be given the role on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
Lennon replaced Brendan Rodgers after the latter joined Leicester City back in February following the sacking of French boss Claude Puel. But Lennon only remains on an interim basis at Parkhead.
The likes of Roberto Martinez, Graham Potter, Andre Villas-Boas and Alex Neil have all been linked with the managerial job at Celtic, but a decision is yet to be made as to Rodgers’ permanent successor.
Redknapp, who has managed the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Portsmouth, was asked if he would replace Lennon at the end of the season – but did state that he “could do it”.

“I like Neil and he’s done well since he’s come into Celtic. I wouldn’t be in the running for a job like that, no chance,” Redknapp said. “I could do it but they’ve got Neil Lennon and I’m too busy.”
TBR’s view
Redknapp boasts plenty of contacts and huge experience. The calibre of Redknapp is huge down south, and has also gained huge popularity since entering the world of television.
At 72 years of age, Redknapp last managed at Birmingham City in 2017. But having a manager of his calibre and experience would tempt plenty of players to Parkhead and keep Celtic on top until 10 in a row.
