Harry Redknapp predicts where West Ham may finish this season

Harry Redknapp has predicted that West Ham could finish in the top eight of the Premier League this year.

The Hammers are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 35 points from their opening 21 top-flight games this season.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, few would have predicted that the London club would now be just outside of the Champions League positions halfway through this campaign.

But manager David Moyes has done a superb job at the London Stadium.

Redknapp feels West Ham will be on the fringes of the European positions, plus he gave big credit to Czech Republic internationals Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal for their impact.

“The two Czechoslovakian boys have been outstanding , the right-back and the midfield player,” Redknapp told Sky Sports’ Main Event channel.

“If they keep the squad fit, I think they’ll finish maybe seventh or eighth this year. David Moyes has done a great job there and they’ve recruited well which is good.”

TBR’s View:

It was vital West Ham signed Soucek in the summer on a permanent basis and he’s turned out to be a hidden gem.

The 25-year-old midfielder is a defensive screen and a workhorse in the centre of the park, but his contribution in both boxes is huge.

He’s scored seven goals in the league already this season.

Meanwhile, Coufal has been performing like one of the best right-backs in the Premier League since he joined in the summer.

The 28-year-old is an aggressive defender one-on-one and looks reliable, while going forward he can cross well and provide an attacking threat.
