Harry Redknapp has told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT (8:13am) that out-of-form Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli needs to “get his nut down” and rekindle his 2017 form.
During 2016-17, 23-year-old Alli scored 22 goals from midfield as well as laying on 13 assists. The season later, he had a hand in 31 goals – scoring 14 and 17 assists. But last season, Alli only scored seven goals and managed eight assists.
This time around, he has only been used four times – failing to score or create a single goal. He has even lost his place in the England side, and Mauricio Pochettino is ushering him out of the starting eleven.
Alli has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season but former Spurs boss Redknapp believes Alli is capable of returning to his best – but has urged Alli to start working hard and ignore anything off the pitch.

TBR’s view – Tottenham form coincides with Alli performances
In the past, Tottenham have to be performing well for Alli to shine. If Spurs are struggling, so does Alli. The midfielder lacks the ability to be able to change the game purely by himself – unlike Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min or Harry Kane.
Alli is a shadow of the player that took the Premier League by storm in 2016-17 and 2017-18. Now, he can hardly get into the Tottenham team and Alli has got to listen to Redknapp.
