Harry Redknapp has named West Ham’s FA Cup exit back in January as the low point in the club’s season so far.
The Hammers currently sit ninth in the Premier League table and still are in the hunt to finish seventh come the end of the season.
But they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Tottenham in the last-16 in October and their FA Cup exit came at the hands of League One strugglers AFC Wimbledon.
The Premier League team were beaten 4-2 away from home in the cup by AFC Wimbledon and Redknapp has labelled it a “disaster”.
Ex-West Ham boss Redknapp also offered his views on current manager Manuel Pellegrini, who he believes is struggling from inconsistency.
“He’s (Pellegrini) done a decent job, I thought David Moyes had done a good job last year you know. They’re sort of in the same type of position,” Redknapp told the Daily Star.
“Wimbledon in the cup was a disaster. But then they’ve had other great results against some of the big clubs.
“I’d like to see them finish seventh or eighth this year if they can. I like Pellegrini, he’s a good man, but the team is where it is now, unfortunately they lack consistency.”

TBR’s View:
With Watford, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton making up three of the four FA Cup semi-finalists, it should leave West Ham fans angry that they haven’t gone deep in the competition.
But overall Pellegrini has enjoyed a decent first year and people will forget about the bumpy start is his team can end up finishing seventh.
He certainly has a strong squad at his disposal and with a couple of fresh faces they should make huge improvements next year.
West Ham should stick with Pellegrini considering his track record of winning the title with Manchester City and he’s trying to implement his style on the team.
