Liverpool have arguably the best player in the Premier League right now in the shape of Mohamed Salah.
Indeed, Salah has been in Ballon d’Or winning form this year, and he’s a shoo-in for the PFA Player of the Year award.
Salah has been breaking all sorts of records this season, and it’s hard to argue against the idea that he’s the best player in English football right now.
However, speaking to Goal, Harry Kewell has shared a different perspective.
The Australian was asked to compare and rate some of the best players in world football today, and he actually picked Alexander Isak over Salah.
Isak is arguably the best striker in the world right now, and, interestingly, Liverpool want to sign Isak this summer.

Harry Kewell picks Alexander Isak over Mohamed Salah
Kewell was asked to rate and compare some of world football’s biggest stars.
The pundit was eventually asked to pick between Salah and Isak, and while he was a Liverpool player in his prime, Kewell ultimately opted for the Newcastle star.
Isak has been incredible in the Premier League this season, and, for that reason, many top clubs are looking at the £60m man.
Arsenal are keen on Isak, while Liverpool also want the striker.
Whether or not Isak moves this summer remains to be seen, but, one thing is for sure, he’s one of English football’s premier talents.
Alexander Isak compared to Mohamed Salah
Kewell picked Isak over Salah, but it is very difficult to agree with his point of view here.
Indeed, as good as Isak has been this season, Salah has been on another level.
The Egyptian has been on fire over the past 12 months, and the numbers show the gulf between these two players right now.
| Mohamed Salah | Alexander Isak | |
| 38 | Games | 34 |
| 29 | Goals | 23 |
| 18 | Assists | 6 |
Salah was the top scorer and the top assister in the Premier League last season, and as brilliant as Isak is, he still has some way to go to get to this level.
Liverpool want Isak, and the idea of the Swede playing alongside the Egyptian is certainly mouth-watering for any football fan.
