Harry Kane uses one-word to describe Bukayo Saka's performance for England last night
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane used one-word to describe Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka’s performance for England on ITV last night.
Saka has been a standout performer under Mikel Arteta this season and has helped Arsenal race into a five point lead at the top of the Premier League.
The 21-year-old has carried his brilliant form into the World Cup for England and has now scored three goals in as many games in Qatar.
The Arsenal youngster bagged a memorable brace on his World Cup debut against Iran and scored a delightful chipped goal as England beat Senegal 3-0 last night.
And after an impressive win for Gareth Southgate’s men, Kane described Saka’s performance as ‘brilliant’.
Kane on Saka
Speaking to ITV after the game, Kane was asked about the performances of Saka, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden.
“Brilliant, all three of them today having big parts in the goals,” Kane answered.
“That’s what we need. We have a great mix of youth and experience.”
Saka will be delighted to mark his return to the starting line-up with a goal and an eye-catching display.
The Gunners man was dropped to the bench for England’s 3-0 win over Wales earlier this week after a goalless draw with the USMNT.
Marcus Rashford also bagged a brace after replacing Saka in the side and Southgate made a brave decision to drop the Manchester United man last night.
But it certainly paid off and Saka was one of England’s best players on the night.
The Three Lions now face a tough test in France on Saturday and Didier Deschamps’ men have been one of the standout teams in the tournament so far.
Saka will be hoping to get the nod once again and his display last night should be enough to earn him a starting place in the quarter-final.
