Harry Kane has urged Tottenham to focus on themselves ahead of facing the world’s best in the shape of Lionel Messi on Wednesday night.
Spurs welcome Spanish giants Barcelona to Wembley in midweek for a Champions League group stage match, where they will be keen to bounce back from a defeat away to Inter Milan in the last European tie.
Mauricio Pochetitno’s side could do with points on the board, but face a talented Barcelona side led by talisman and captain Messi.
Messi, 31, has already been directly involved in 13 goals in just nine games across all competitions this season.
Kane believes that Spurs have their own superstars too in their ranks and need to be ready for a huge test.
“It’s a great test. As a player you want to play against the best players in the world and Messi is certainly that. But we have to focus on ourselves – we have some great players as well,” Kane said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

Messi is part of a Barcelona side that will be gunning for Champions League glory this season, but Spurs showed they can compete in the elite club competition.
They managed to topple eventual winners Real Madrid in the group stages of last season’s competition and will need most of their players on top form.
Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has returned from injury to give them a timely boost, but on the flip side there are plenty of notable absentees in the shape of Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen and Serge Aurier.
