Harry Kane shares the frustration of Mauricio Pochettino after Tottenham threw away a 2-0 lead against Olympiacos in the opening match of their Champions League campaign last night.
As per Sky Sports, Pochettino was not impressed at all with Tottenham’s display and the way they went away from the gameplan in Greece.
The Argentine said: “When we are not showing that intensity that the competition demands we struggle. Being focused, concentrated, aggressive, anticipating the action. That is my disappointment. I feel disappointed for everyone.”
As per BBC, Kane added: “We’re not young anymore, we’re not inexperienced. We’ve played in big games. I can see why the manager’s frustrated, he’s been here six years and we’re making similar mistakes to the first year.”
TBR’s View – Tottenham were robust in last season’s run to the final but have already blown 2-0 leads twice this term
The ‘Spursy’ tag has been put on Tottenham for many a year but their run to last season’s Champions League final was anything but.
They fought right to the end, came from behind more than once and showed the culture change Mauricio Pochettino has overseen.
But this season, they’ve already let two-goal leads slip away from home, against Arsenal and last night. As Kane eludes to, the same mistakes are coming back into their game and that’s got to be a worry.
