Spurs face Southampton tonight as Ryan Mason gets the chance to take charge of his first Premier League game for his boyhood club.
Mason is stepping into the limelight to replace Jose Mourinho on a temporary basis. His self-confessed love for the club has gone down well with the Spurs fans, and he’ll be hoping for a big win tonight.
However, he may have to do it without talisman and skipper, Harry Kane. The England man limped off at the weekend as is said to be a major doubt for the game tonight, especially with the cup final just around the corner.
But Kane, ever the professional and team player, has taken to Twitter to deliver an impassioned messaged towards his old friend Mason.
Kane, clearly, is very much all about the team and he was one of few to get constant credit during the time spent with Jose Mourinho in charge.
The Spurs hitman is the consumate professional it seems and his rallying cry of sorts here will go down well with the Spurs faithful.
TBR View: No surprises from Kane, he oozes class and is Mr Spurs
Kane took time to thank Mourinho in the most professional way he could, and now he knows his job is to get right behind Mason in the next few weeks.
He’s clearly someone who just wants the very best for Spurs. Yes, he scores bucket loads of goals and he could move anywhere, but overall, he wants to win with Spurs.
It’s touching, then, to see Kane get right behind Mason from the off ahead of what is a big week for the club in general.
