Tottenham legend Harry Kane has already showered an incoming Spurs signing with praise after spending time with him at Bayern Munich.
Tottenham Hotspur can be optimistic about the season ahead, but they still need incomings. Thomas Frank has already acquired the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Kota Takai, but this isn’t enough to sustain the level they want to compete at.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s decision to stay at Nottingham Forest was a dagger blow, with a creative spark needed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
But amid a search for a magician in midfield, they’ve seemingly purchased a powerhouse instead.

Harry Kane on Palhinha
Tottenham are on the brink of signing Palhinha, with the Bayern Munich midfielder looking for a loan switch to Thomas Frank’s side.
He’s struggled at Bayern since moving from Fulham last season, but bossed it in the Premier League. So much so that former Spurs striker Harry Kane has already given his seal of approval.
“Pal [Palhinha] is an animal in that defensive midfield role,” said Kane in a 2023 press conference. “I’ve had many battles against him. He tackles, he intercepts, he reads the game really well – so he’s a great addition.
Kane, of course, played many times with Palhinha in the Bundesliga – but it was England’s top flight where the Portuguese showed his qualities in the centre of midfield.
Palhinha dominated the Premier League
Bayern bought Palhinha for a reason, and that’s because he’s one of the best in the business at what he does.
He proved that in the 23/24 season at Craven Cottage, actually coming out as the ‘best tackler in the Premier League’ – according to Sofa Score.
Tackles per game Premier League 23/24
- Joao Palhinha: 4.8
- Vinicius Souza: 3.9
- Joao Gomes: 3.4
- Yves Bissouma: 3.2
- Nicolas Dominguez: 3.2
Palhinha, who wants Spurs move, will be looking to embody the same no-nonsense midfield approach when he links up with Frank and co imminently.
