Harry Kane may not be a Tottenham player anymore, but he still absolutely loves Spurs.

Indeed, while Kane may have signed for Bayern Munich, back in 2023, he still has a soft spot for Tottenham.

Kane wished Spurs well ahead of their Europa League final last year, and he still watches most of Tottenham’s games.

The England captain faced off against Spurs in a pre-season friendly this week, and speaking to Hayters TV after the game, Kane has been discussing some of the ongoing situations at Tottenham.

The striker spoke about Heung-Min Son’s recent departure, while he also touched on James Maddison’s injury after it emerged that the midfielder had done his ACL.

Harry Kane reacts to James Maddison injury news

Kane spoke about Maddison and his long-term injury.

The striker says he’s gutted to hear that Maddison has picked up this problem.

The two are, of course, teammates at international level, and Kane is close with Maddison via their England connection.

“Yeah I’m gutted for him to be honest. I spoke to him earlier, and you know he’s obviously gutted. I love Madders as a person and as a player,” Kane said.

“So unfortunate to have that injury and then come back and do it again. Just sending best wishes to him. I will catch up with him personally, but gutted for him, he just has to stay strong and be ready for the comeback next year.”

James Maddison’s injury history

As Kane says, Maddison has had no luck at all with injuries over the years, as the numbers show.

Maddison has had numerous serious injuries throughout his career, but, sadly, this ACL issue is his most severe injury yet.

Luckily, in this era of sports science, physiotherapy and top facilities at Tottenham, Maddison should be able to recover from this issue and get back to playing at a high level, but, it’s a long road ahead of the midfielder it must be said.

Sadly, Maddison’s dreams of playing in the World Cup for England next year have likely also been dashed.
