The dust might only just be settling on Harry Kane and his wonderful performance against Manchester City this weekend, but talk about his future is already ramping up ahead of the summer.
As we all know, Kane’s name dominated headlines all summer as Manchester City tried to buy the England striker.

Daniel Levy stood his ground and now Kane is firing on all cylinders once again for Antonio Conte. However, his performance this weekend doesn’t necessarily mean he is staying in North London forever. That’s according to The Athletic anyway, who claim Kane leaving Spurs is still a distinct possibility.
Their report claims that Kane could even dwindle his contract down until 2023 and leave for nothing. It is said that that option is in Kane’s mind, especially if Levy continues not to budge on his transfer stance.
Kane’s contract with Tottenham expires in 2023. He will be into his 30s by that time. However, given his fitness levels and goal scoring prowess, he is still likely to be a wanted man come that time. Levy and Spurs, then, could face a difficult decision this summer.
TBR’s View: Battle Of Wills At Tottenham
There can be no question about Kane’s commitment to the cause with Spurs. Contract or no contract, he is still delivering the goods when it matters.
The bigger issue is the game between he and Levy. Surely Tottenham won’t want to let Kane – who Gareth Southgate lauded as ‘brilliant’ – go for nothing? But on the reverse of that, who would they realistically replace him with? Even if they did bring in over £100m. The answer is probably nobody.
Harry Kane doesn’t look like signing a new contract any time soon. And this summer, the rumour mill will no doubt be in overdrive again.
