Tottenham and England are sweating on the fitness of star striker Harry Kane, with worries over the skipper’s participation in the final group game v Wales.

Kane played for England last night as the Three Lions drew 0-0 with the USA. The Tottenham man had been nursing an ankle injury heading into the clash. However, he seemed fine in the main and although England struggled, there was little evidence of Kane being injured.

But according to the Daily Mail, all is not looking great for Kane and his injury. The Mail reports and shows a photo of Kane leaving the stadium last night with his ankle strapped. It’s claimed that the Spurs star’s ankle appeared more swollen than is being let on by those inside the England training camp.

Of course, Antonio Conte will be worried back in England. Despite wanting to see his players do well in Qatar, the Italian’s main focus is Tottenham. And if Kane does come back either injured or nursing an injury, Conte will be fuming.

For England and Kane, the big question now becomes does he play v Wales. The Three Lions are essentially through, barring a big defeat. Gareth Southgate, then, could rest his skipper.

TBR’s View: Kane injury becoming a problem year on year

This must worry Tottenham fans. Not just in the immediate part that Kane is potentially injured and might miss a few games. But more for the fact it seems Kane keeps picking up similar injuries.

We saw with Neymar getting a knock the other night how teams target the big players. And while this isn’t to say Iran ddi that, it is clear Kane’s ankle isn’t quite right.

For Tottenham and England, there’ll be some deep breaths being taken. If Kane is ruled out at some point, it will scupper World Cup hopes and Premier League hopes all in one foul swoop.
