Jordan Pickford has played against some of the very best players in world football.
For England and Everton the goalkeeper has faced off against the likes of Mohamed Salah, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland over the years.
However, according to the man himself, the toughest player he’s ever played against is actually one of his England teammates.
Indeed, speaking on Everton’s YouTube channel, Pickford has stated that former Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, is the toughest player he ever played against because of his incredible finishing ability.

Harry Kane is Jordan Pickford’s toughest opponent
The Everton goalie spoke about the striker.
“Toughest opponent I’ve faced? It’s a hard one as a goalkeeper that. A finisher, Harry Kane,” Pickford said.
So difficult
We have to sympathise with Pickford here.
Playing against a player like Kane must be so painful sometimes.
Pickford will know Kane’s game like the back of his hand having trained alongside him so many times for England, and yet, he’s still almost impossible to stop.
The striker just has that innate ability to score goals, and he can score any type of goal as well.
Luckily for Pickford, Kane has now left Tottenham to go to Bayern Munich, so he’s unlikely to have to play against the striker anytime soon unless Everton somehow make a charge for Europe at some point in the near future.
Kane is an absolute nightmare to play against for any goalkeeper, his shots are so powerful and so accurate that even the best in the business often can’t get near them.
Kane is undoubtedly one of the best strikers we’ve ever seen in the Premier League, and it’s a real shame that Tottenham had to let him go this summer, especially as he doesn’t look likely to win any trophies with Bayern Munich this season.
