‘Happy and settled’: David Ornstein suggests £45m Arsenal player won’t be leaving now

Arsenal have signed a lot of players for a lot of money this summer, and now, they need to focus on outgoings.

The Gunners need to recoup some cash after spending over £200m this summer, and there have been some high-profile players linked with departures.

Of course, we all know that Folarin Balogun and Albert Sambi Lokonga are probably likely to be on their way this summer, while Thomas Partey has been linked with move to Saudi Arabia and Juventus.

However, according to David Ornstein, it’s looking less and less likely that Partey will be leaving Arsenal during this window as the journalist told Hayters TV that Partey is seeming happy and settled at Arsenal right now.

Partey happy

Ornstein shared what he knows about the £45m midfielder.

“They need to get players out. Thomas Partey was linked at the start of the window, but he seems happy and settled, and Arsenal would want a big fee for him and increasingly you feel like he could be an important part of that midfield alongside Declan Rice,” Ornstein said.

Keep him

It was preposterous to think that Arsenal were ever even considering letting Thomas Partey go.

The Gunners are in the Champions League for the first time in a while, depth is more important than it has ever been at the Emirates, so why on earth would you sell your two first-choice midfielders in the same summer?

It just wouldn’t have made sense, and the fact that Partey is staying is good news for Arsenal.

Of course, sales are necessary to balance the books, but we can’t help but feel that there are other candidates more primed and ready for a departure than Partey is.
