Tottenham Hotspur clearly have concerns over the long-term future of Christian Eriksen. He is hurtling into the final year of his contract at Spurs and Real Madrid are lurking. As reported by The Mirror, Spurs may have to pay Eriksen up to £200,000-a-week to convince him to stay. For many a pessimistic observer, the writing is on the wall.
But if Tottenham are to start looking for a replacement, then there Champions League semi-final against Ajax is the perfect place to start.
Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech has been in fine form for the Dutch side yet again this season. The Guardian reported last month that Spurs are keeping tabs on the player. He would certainly be in their price range. Last summer he nearly joined Roma but agreed to stay, with the caveat being a £25 million release clause, as reported by The Sun.

A fantastic crosser of the ball, a goal threat, capable of playing anywhere in the attacking midfield, his comparisons to Eriksen are clear. He even has the Ajax pedigree.
When Tottenham take on the Dutch side they will see first hand just how capable Ziyech is. It might be enough to convince Mauricio Pochettino that he is the man to replace the Dane, should he decide to leave the club.
