‘Hahahaha’, ‘bring him home’: Some Newcastle fans joke after finding out who’s become available

A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter with a tongue-in-cheek take on Alan Pardew’s new-found availability just as the Magpies look set for a takeover.

PCP Capital Partners, headed by Amanda Staveley, have brokered a £300million deal for Newcastle, which is being backed by the Saudi Arabian royal family’s Public Investment Fund.

The prospective new Newcastle owners are expected to have major ambitions upon arriving at St. James’ Park, and Steve Bruce’s future at the club has been cast into doubt.

Indeed, with the Saudi PIF believed to control assets worth around £320billion, it’s no surprise that the rumour mill has gone into overdrive on Tyneside with regards to potential new arrivals.

ESPN reported last week that Mauricio Pochettino, Massimiliano Allegri, Rafael Benitez and Lucien Favre were in the frame to replace Bruce in the Newcastle dugout.

Goal.com, meanwhile, has claimed that Flamengo head coach Jorge Jesus has been identified as a potential new boss for the Magpies.

Back to Pardew, he left Dutch club ADO Den Haag by mutual consent earlier in the week after the 2019-20 Eredivisie season was called off in wake of current events.

Although Den Haag were seven points adrift of safety, the cancellation of the campaign means the club will take part in next season’s Dutch top flight.

Newcastle eyeing a new manager? Pardew available once again? It’s just meant to be, according to some fans (tongue very firmly in cheek, of course):
