Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale says he has had multiple arguments with Gunners teammate Granit Xhaka on the pitch.
Both men did a combined interview with CBS Sports, and the England international paid tribute to the former club captain.
Ramsdale praised Xhaka’s quality as a leader, and said that any disagreements on the pitch are forgotten about as soon as they get back to the changing room.
Ramsdale is embarking on his second season at Arsenal, having dislodged Bernd Leno last term and the German has now joined Fulham.

Ramsdale praises Xhaka
“He’s integral to our group, playing or not playing,” said Ramsdale of Xhaka.
“When he was injured at the start of last season, you could feel his presence in the changing room. You can feel his presence when he’s playing.
“I think the captaincy is blown out of proportion. That comes from what’s happened here with having a few captains in the last few years. But then you’ve got the likes of Rob Holding, another who when he isn’t playing is someone everyone talks to. You’ve got leaders who just do it on the pitch.
“We’ve had a few arguments on the pitch, me and Granit, but a type of person who can be a great leader is someone who just forgets about it when you get in the changing room. He’ll have different ways to speak to different people.
“It gets the best out of me and him together when we have a little argument. We get back in the changing room and everything is fine.”

£30 million (Sky Sports) man Xhaka has had his fair share of critics from outside the club but it is clear how much Ramsdale rates him.
The most recent episode of Arsenal: All or Nothing shows Ramsdale berating teammates for losing a 1-0 lead at Everton last season.
The pair are clearly big characters who demand a lot from their teammates and are vocal about getting the best out of each other on the pitch.
