‘Had a blinder’: Tottenham fans react to Eric Dier’s Manchester City display

Tottenham fans were in heaven last night as they went top of the league with a fine win over Man City, with defender Eric Dier one of the standout performers again.

Dier put in a fine display at the back for Jose Mourinho’s men. The England man kept the likes of Jesus, Silva, and De Bruyne at bay most of the night and, when needed, put his body on the line with a number of fine blocks.

Other Spurs players on the night took plenty of plaudits, as the likes of Harry Kane were once again sensational in the final third.

But for Dier, it was a performance that seemed to epitomise everything he has become under Mourinho. He was no nonsense throughout and firmly cemented himself as one of Spurs’ key players.

Tottenham fans, too, noticed just how good his performance had been, with plenty of them taking to Twitter to sing the praises of Dier.
