Gylfi Sigurdsson could become the latest cult hero at Everton.
The attacking midfielder is finally beginning to perform to his true capabilities at Goodison Park, after an indifferent 2017/18 campaign.
Sigurdsson found the going tough last year under Ronald Koeman and then Sam Allardyce, with neither manager playing to his strengths.

He was often shunted out wide to incorporate Wayne Rooney, and in total he only managed four league goals.
This season he has already matched that tally after just eight games, and is flourishing playing as a number 10.
One gets the feeling with Sigurdsson that he has the potential to achieve cult hero status among the Everton fans, because he is a match-winner capable of the spectacular, as evidenced against Leicester City before the international break.
Another Tim Cahill?
Sigurdsson can become as adored as Tim Cahill was.

Cahill spent eight years on Merseyside and was famed for his goalscoring from attacking midfield.
He was adored by the Goodison faithful for his knack of scoring headers in particular. Sigurdsson can endear himself in a similar way with his brilliant long-distance shooting.
He arguably won’t have as long an Everton career as Cahill did, but he definitely has the ability to leave an impression.

The Iceland international has qualities that can get fans off their seats.
Now that he’s the main man in midfield he can start carving out his Toffees legacy, just as the Australian did before him.
