Guillem Balague says Liverpool midfielder Thiago will come good eventually

Liverpool lost 2-0 to Everton this evening but Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has said that Thiago Alcantara will prove his critics wrong in the long-term.

The Spanish midfielder was quiet once again as his Anfield hoodoo continued. He has yet to win for Liverpool at home since joining, with critics claiming he has affected the flow of play for the Reds.

However, Thiago has succeeded at the very highest of levels with Spain and Bayern Munich. And Balague, when questioned about Thiago this evening, believes he will leave his critics with egg on their faces eventually.

Liverpool once again suffered injury misery as Jordan Henderson left the game with an injury early on in the tie.

It was another nightmare situation for the Reds, who have lost countless defensive players throughout the campaign through various knocks and muscle injuries.

It seems, though, that Thiago will come good eventually, if Balague’s words are anything to go by.

The Spaniard has had a few good games and at times looked brilliant. But Liverpool need more from their man and he needs to start controlling games as he did in Munich.

Thiago is more than capable and Balague knows him well given his Spanish expertise. However, Reds fans will be demanding more from their new man as patience begins to run thinner as the weeks tick by.
