Guillem Balague says Arsenal have ‘zero’ chance of landing Martin Odegaard

Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague, has claimed Arsenal have ‘zero’ chance of signing Martin Odegaard on a permanent basis this summer.

The Norwegian starlet arrived in North London at the end of the January window on a loan deal from Real Madrid. The Gunners are hoping to see Odegaard impress and some around the club will be hoping there is potential for a loan deal.

However, Balague, speaking on his #AskGuillem show on YouTube today, claims Odegaard will be back in Madrid in the summer.

“Zero, I think,” Balague said.

“Real Madrid need to build a future based on the youngsters that they bought.”

The comments from Balague will be of concern to Arsenal supporters. Gunners fans will be hoping for Odegaard to show his best form in the coming months and convince the club to sign him on a permanent deal.

Balague is high on Spanish football and rarely gets things too wrong. His comments here, then, will be a bit of a blow to those Gunners fans hoping to see Odegaard as a future Arsenal star.

Arsenal will hope to see the best of Odegaard but they have to remember he is Madrid’s player. If he excels in London, then it’s the ideal situation for Madrid.

They can then choose to take back a player who has found his feet. Or, they could choose to cash in and start a start something of an auction for the Norwegian star.

For now, Arsenal will just need to ensure they try and get the best from Odegaard and see where things lead them.
