Guillem Balague has given an update on Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo, which could be bad news for Everton.
The Spanish football expert has been discussing the future of the Frenchman at the Catalan club on his YouTube channel and, as he has previously, has confirmed that Todibo is not wanted at the Nou Camp.
“The idea is to actually get Pjanic, and Juventus – like all the Italian clubs – are very happy with swaps. Pjanic is one of the ones that Barcelona are talking to Juventus about, in exchange for… well, ‘what do you want from us?’.
“Todibo, for instance, who was wanted by Juventus before Barcelona got him, and quite possibly he will become a good centre back, even though we don’t know yet.”
But, the problem for Everton, is that Balague is now hinting that Barcelona are ready to offer Todibo to Juventus as part of a swap deal to sign Bosnian star Miralem Pjanic.
It was recently reported by SPORT that the Toffees were closing in on a deal for the Frenchman. The report claimed that Everton had offered £17.7 million for the player, with Barca wanting £22 million and a buyback option.
Todibo is currently on loan at Schalke 04 but Everton are seemingly at the front of the queue to sign him permanently, especially with severe doubts over their attempts to bring in Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.
The 6ft 3ins star would undoubtedly be a good back up option should Everton miss out on the Brazilian central defender. However, despite the club’s good relationship with Barcelona, it appears the La Liga giants might have plans of their own for the French outcast.
