Guglielmo Vicario so impressed with £15m Tottenham player’s display vs Manchester City

Guglielmo Vicario has praised Destiny Udogie on social media after his display for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Spurs picked up a 3-3 draw at the Etihad Stadium over the weekend after a resilient display on the road.

Tottenham found themselves behind on two occasions in the game after taking an early lead through Son Heung-Min.

Goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Dejan Kulusevski handed Spurs a well-deserved point and ended their three-match losing streak. 

Ange Postecoglou once again opted for a back-four made up of full-backs with both Cristin Romero and Micky van de Ven absent.

Destiny Udogie started at left-back again after returning to the side in the 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa the weekend before.

The £15 million man put in another solid showing against City and continues to impress in his debut Premier League season.

And Guglielmo Vicario has praised his compatriot after Sunday’s game.

Vicario impressed by Udogie’s latest Tottenham display

Udogie took to Instagram last night to express his delight after picking up a positive result at City.

He wrote: “Once again we showed our character, we will keep fighting till the end! COYS.”

And Vicario left a comment beneath the full-back’s post, suggesting he was impressed with his display.

Tottenham beat a host of top clubs to Udogie’s signature last summer as the Italian made the switch to North London from Udinese.

The 20-year-old spent the last campaign on loan at his former club but has returned to Spurs with the required experience to make a real impact.

He’s adjusted to Postecoglou’s demands with ease after playing as a wing-back during his time in Italy.

Udogie still has some areas of his game that require improvement and that was highlighted in the defeat to Chelsea last month as he was sent off after receiving two yellow cards.

But Tottenham have a real gem on their hands here and Udogie will only continue to improve under Postecoglou’s guidance.
