Tottenham travel to Manchester City this weekend in what will be a massive test for Antonio Conte and his team against Pep Guardiola’s high-flyers.
City have been outstanding in recent months and smashed in five goals past Sporting Lisbon in midweek. As things stand, they top the Premier League and look in imperious form heading into the final third of the season.

However, City haven’t always fared well against Tottenham in recent seasons. Indeed, Spurs won 1-0 back in August and have won three of the last five meetings. In those wins, Heung-Min Son has scored every time and City boss Guardiola has admitted he is wary of the Tottenham forward.
“They have a lot of weapons, Son we suffer every time, with Kane, Moura, they have a lot of quality. Midfield and physicality. The patterns they do, what I saw yesterday and today, they realise,” Guardiola told the MEN.
“A manager arrives in the middle of the season changes things is not easy. Playing every three days. You need time but in football there is no time, this club gave me time so I am grateful. All managers need time to try to convince the players to follow what you feel.”
TBR’s View: Tottenham Need More Than Just Son To Down City
And by that, we mean they need a miracle. City are simply crushing teams at the moment and there is every chance this could be Tottenham’s low point under Conte.
Of course, on the flipside, it is a chance for Spurs to show their manager that they can compete. A win at City would send a huge message. But to do that, they’ll need Son, Kane, and pretty much everyone else at their best.
Guardiola is right to be fearful of Son. But the reality is his team has so much more quality, that anything but another City win would be a surprise.
