‘Guaranteed Premier League player’: Some Aston Villa fans wowed by 18-year-old’s ‘scary’ Friday display

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to praise Villans Under-23s star Kaine Kesler for his latest impressive display.

The 18-year-old scored a brace and also claimed an assist as Mark Delaney’s charges ran out 4-0 winners over Wolves U23s in Friday’s Premier League 2 match at Bodymoor Heath.

Aston Villa first-team manager Dean Smith and coaches John Terry, Craig Shakespeare and Richard O’Kelly were all in attendance as Villa’s U23s delivered an outstanding performance.

Kesler opened the scoring after just five minutes, Villa breaking from a Wolves corner and surging up the pitch before the right-back rifled in a great low finish.

Louie Barry then netted his 11th Premier League 2 goal of the season from the penalty spot, ensuring Villa had a healthy 2-0 lead going into the break.

Kesler got his second midway through the second half with a thumping finish from inside the box, and later set up Aaron Ramsey for his his seventh goal from his last five appearances.

With Ahmed Elmohamady out of contract at the end of the season and looking likely to go, plenty of Villa fans think Kesler should be promoted to the first team.

Here is some of the Villa fan reaction to the youngster’s impressive performance on Friday:
