Arsenal need a new striker in the summer.

The Gunners have been in the market for a new centre-forward for quite some time now, and one player who has been linked as of late is Alexander Isak.

The Swedish attacker is said to be a target for the Gunners heading into the summer, and speaking on The Arsenal Beat Podcast, Simon Collings has been discussing the idea of Isak coming to Arsenal.

The journalist says that he’d absolutely take Isak to Arsenal, while, on top of that, he says that a lot of groundwork around this potential deal has been done as Arsenal have already intensely scouted Isak in the past.

Arsenal know all about Alexander Isak

Collings spoke about the £60m striker and Arsenal’s interest.

“For me, my pick is Alexander Isak of Newcastle. He’s someone Arsenal have looked at before. He can operate out wide, in the middle, he’s proven in the Premier League. I know that Newcastle have gone on the record to hint they need to sell a big player to comply with profit and sustainability rules. There’s been talk of Bruno Guimaraes going to PSG, but if I was Arsenal I’d try to tempt Newcastle with Isak and say if you need to raise some money we’ll take him off your hands. Given that Arsenal have already scouted him and know a lot about him, I think a lot of the groundwork has been done, so he would be my pick,” Collings said.

Incredible signing

Arsenal clearly like Isak as a player, and it has to be said that he would be an incredible signing for the Gunners.

The Swede has it all. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s fast and he’s an incredible finisher.

Arsenal have needed a player like this to spearhead their attack for some time now, and Isak would be the perfect player to come in and do just that.

Of course, getting this deal done won’t be easy, but if the Gunners do find a way to land Isak, they could go to the next level.
