Everton’s apparent interest in their namesake forward Everton ‘Cebolinha’ Soares has taken some extra twists this week.
The Toffees’ interest in the Brazilian international is well-documented. It has even been suggested that the club made a January approach for the Gremio star.
Now, two varying reports have highlighted where Everton stand on the 14-cap Selecao star.
Lance is suggesting that Gremio are now open to the sale of their star commodity. The club is believed to need money due to the impact of the current global health crisis.
That means the Brazilian side will be more receptive to offers for their forward. Previous reports (Zero Hora, as relayed by Sport Witness) have suggested that Gremio have valued their star at a fee in the region of €40 million (£35m) and that fee should now reduce.
However, a report from ESPN Brasil suggests that the current global health crisis will cause problems in any Toffees approach for the player. They claim that the current situation has negotiations with Everton at ‘a standstill’.
Everton will no doubt be hoping to win the transfer battle for ‘Cebolinha’ and it appears that Gremio are finally ready to let their star player leave this summer.
But it remains to be seen just how much the Immortal Tricolor will demand for their main man.
